gone are the days of (annoying) door to door sales people. but recently, my friends have been throwing these jewelry parties where a rep will come and set up jewelry to browse while we sip drink wine and eat gourmet candies. usually, i would only be going to have a plan on a lazy sunday, however, my friend gave me a pair of earrings that she bought for me after “instantly seeing (me) wear them” . and they were decently priced plus come with free repairs if they break, chip, etc. it’s gorgeous costume jewelry for great prices! so i can’t complain anymore, the sales reps are not pushy, the host gets 3 free pieces, and everyone gets satisfying amounts of sweets and treats before the work week begins.
next time you get invited to one of these sales get togethers (with alcohol), go! it’s a great chance to get some great jewels for great prices and chat with your girlfriends!

autumn. fall. harvest. whatever you call it, it is upon us. the 10 day forcasts for the north east finally remain in the 60’s and the humidity is at a standstill. gorgeous. pack those tanks, folks.. and hang up those sweaters :)
unfortunately, i have yet to figure out a Halloween costume. my goal is to have a better holiday this year than i have in the past (when is that not my goal) but with unfortunate events, i may be asking a bit too much. if i end up with a bag of candy corn, a lap full of chocolates, and hocus pocus on the television, i will not complain, that is also quite a nice night.
in my books, october is the month for perfection. sweaters, crisp air, cinnamon scents, and most of all, pumpkin.
two years ago, i was introduced to a key piece to my life puzzle, Trader Joe’s pumpkin pancake and waffle mix. i buy three boxes of this at a time and make the most glorious fall breakfast every sunday. these pancakes go amazingly well with a dollop of whipped cream (much better than maple syrup which masks the pumpkin yum).
my pancake tip:
add a handful of raw steel cut oats to the batter.. YUM!
they were devoured before i could get a picture, but any image imagined still wouldn’t be as good.
why can’t people just be honest? 100% of the time. no lies. no run-around. no assumptions.
